Oskar Söderman (b.1997) is a visual artist from Uppsala, Sweden. In his work, he strives for a balance between a documentary interest in life and an intimate, poetic reading of space and everyday surroundings. His work serves as a living archive of places and people, while it also is a dedication to the language of photography, the mechanics and aesthetic possibilities of the medium. Söderman is interested in historical and contemporary ways in which photography has been employed as a document of truth, and seeks to challenge this notion by creating new spaces where both fictional and real narratives can develop. He received his BFA from HDK-Valand in Gothenburg, where he currently lives and works.
